Great for everyday use. Fully adjustable and designed to fit snugly. Throat knot should touch the horse's throat latch, ropes from that knot to the crown should come up behind the jaw bone.

I'm currently using this halter on my calf. The rope is the correct size and strength and still has the sensitivity required for clear communication in halter breaking and leading. Obviously, the calf doesn't have the same head shape as a foal. The knots are easy to adjust to the correct length for a proper fit. I gave 4 stars because the lead rope is not attached by a clip and it is short; I estimate it to be 48 inches. This would be a 5 star for me if the lead had a clip or a loop to attach to the halter and was 6 feet long. As it is, I lose lead length because I have to tie the lead to the halter.
