Large Eye Holes For an Easy Fit!
Horse Hood Mane Tamer With Zipper Closure. Train your horse's mane to lay on one side by applying this mane tamer. Simply brush the mane to one side and put on the mane tamer. Protect the braids you worked so hard on for the show.
Made from nylon, lycra, and spandex, it helps to train the mane, keep mane and forelock clean, smooths the body hair, and works great as a liner under heavier garments. Prevents rubbing and keeps hair smooth and slick when blanketing.
Extra large eye holes for a great fit. It features adjustable Velcro fittings at the muzzle, heavy duty full zipper, and between front legs chest strap that attaches to the belly surcingle for extra stability and reduced rubbing. Excellent fitting slinky! 80% Nylon, 10% Lycra, 10% Spandex.
Machine wash cold - Tumble dry low.

We had to order extra large due to the large does not fit out Paint horses in the eyes. If your horse has a bigger head I would go up a size. Material is also a bit thinner then others I have.

I read reviews that said the name tamer ran small but the large I ordered for my super chunky halter mare fits super nice. She doesn't have the small little head and face but the zipper still closes nicely. Being a broodmare well over 1200 lbs the size and girth are still perfect. I won't hesitate to but more for my other horses of various ages and sizes.

Medium is tight on the face of my 14.3 Paint mare. Belly strap length is better than other brands which have a lot of excess that allows strap to slip loose unless tied off.

I like how the sleazy fits my horse like a glove! It looks great on him and looks as if it were custom made jsut for him! The large eye holes also avoid the chances of them moving the hole above their eye so they can’t see.

I bought XLG for my 1250 lbs, 16H Friesian cross. I went up to XLG because Friesians have thicker necks. But even the XLG was way too small. Closing the zipper would be like trying to stuff someone that's size 12 into a size 6 jean. The girth fit was fine. If your horse has a more refined neck it will work but I would still size up. Very well made.

I bought this to have on hand after one of my horses needed an IV line for a few days while colicky. (Would have been able to turn him out between infusions with this).
It also worked nicely to protect the banded mane of another horse while turned out the night before a show.

Originally ordered a large and to exchange it for a Extra Large - sizing is a little deceiving!

I bought this for my thoroughbred mare and I have to say this is actually my favorite item from Chicks.
It fits my mare pretty well except around the girth area and the one I recieved doesnt really tighten there but I'm still very happy with it! It still stays in place and she looks so cute!
I use this as a layer under her blankets to keep her from getting any friction runs. So far it has worked perfect!
I'm not showing at this time but if i was this would keep her clean and her show braids or banding perfectly safe and clean.
I bought the xlg for my mare. She is only 16 hands but she is also very bulky for a 16 hand mare and it fits her neck and head perfect, as well as covers her shoulder as a shoulder guard under her blanket!
I would recommend this product for sure!

If you’re looking for an inexpensive, great mane tamer, this is your product! I got a size medium (teal) for my 15.1 hh mare and it fits great! The teal does look like the picture, but i wish it was lighter. Other than that, I have no complaints! This came just in time for our state show and I couldn’t be any happier with it!
